Description

I like Odo quite a lot. He's one of these characters who make you feel safe. It's probably due to his irrefutable logic, similarly to Spock's, and Data's (from what I've seen in the unique TNG episode I've watched).
He was really moving in that episode, Vortex, in which a runaway from the Gamma Quadrant gave him hints about his kind, the Changelings.

It's one of the many things I like about Trek: They've always tried to put characters with all sorts of characteristics in it without showing just stereotype people. I think it's legit to compare Odo to Spock, because they've got a lot in common, actually. In the further seasons of DS9 you'll find out that they both struggle a lot with their origins.
Data, though, is a bit different, but there are still similarities to Spock that can't be overseen.
In all the Trek series I've always had a soft spot for those who rely on their logic more than their emotions. Spock who always tried to be as Vulcan as possible; Data who didn't understand emotions at all but always tried to; Odo who relied on his logic because he never really fit in; 7 of 9 because she's a mix of the three of them when it comes down to it; T'Pol because as a full-blood Vulcan she never really understood the illogical ways of humans...
